Wyoming State Museum’s Travelling Exhibit “Sioux Indian Ledger Drawings” is on its way to the Lakota Cultural Center in Eagle Butte, South Dakota.

The exhibit showcases 36 color drawings reproduced from a ledger book taken from the Lakota Sioux in 1891. The subjects of the drawings include war episodes, horse captures, and the Ghost Dance.

The Museum makes traveling exhibits available to museums, libraries, schools, and other cultural institutions throughout the state of Wyoming. Our exhibits, which consist of photographic panels and text, allow local institutions to attract new visitors by highlighting various aspects of Wyoming history and culture.

The exhibit will be on display at the Lakota Cultural Center from July 25-September 30. Please contact Trini Birdnecklace, Director at 605-964-2542.
